Drystone Retaining Wall Repairs, Blairgowrie.
I was recently working on some estates in Blairgowrie, completing small repairs to walls that had either fallen or been neglected for some time.
This section required a full strip out. The granite copes were from a fallen mortared wall and tied in well with the granite steps. All the original stone was reused. Using the original stone is always worth the effort. It keeps the character of the wall consistent and avoids wasting good material. The challenge is working with what you’ve got — irregular shapes and the occasional stone that just doesn’t want to fit. It takes time to figure out how the pieces work together. Once it’s all tied in, the end result looks right — solid, honest, and in keeping with the rest of the wall.
